The Blood Transfusion Administration Services (BTAS), under the Ministry of Health – Kuwait, is a central non-profit governmental entity that provides comprehensive blood and cellular therapy services nationwide. Established in 1970, BTAS has evolved into a regional leader in safe blood transfusion and advanced laboratory practices, proudly marking 60 years of service since the establishment of Kuwait's first blood bank in 1965.

In 1986 a branch of the blood bank was opened in Al-Adan Hospital, which is located near the southern border of the State of Kuwait, where it provided blood and its derivatives to the governorates of Ahmadi and Farwaniya and their suburbs, and in 2020 the Cooperative Center for Blood Transfusion was opened next to Al-Adan Hospital as an alternative to The old branch has a bed capacity of 14, and the total number of blood bags that were donated in the year 2023 was 8798 blood units.
